Director’s Statement of Intention
The theme of the animation is about a family member of mine who passed away 4 years ago - Grandpa.
The reason why I wanted to finish this theme is because of my family background. My sister and I grew up in a single-parent home with my mother taking care of us, but she had to work during the week, so we spent a lot of time with my grandparents, and I think we even spent more time with them than my parents.
Grandpa is a quiet but gentle and warm person. He didn't talk much but often made us laugh by telling jokes; he walked slowly but liked to go around; we thought he didn't like to play but he would play chess with us; he would even combine the family table into a ping pong table to play ping pong with us when we said we wanted to play ping pong; and when we were scolded by Grandma, Grandpa would always stand up to "save" us; Grandpa was also the chef of the family and every delicious meal in the house was cooked by him. He cooked every delicious meal at home. The time my grandfather spent with me became a fond memory of my childhood.
Later, my grandfather was found to be suffering from cancer and started his journey to fight the disease. Grandpa was suffering physically and psychologically, and I believe no one else suffered more than he did. Fortunately, in his final moments, Grandpa was able to leave peacefully and without suffering from his illness. After Grandpa's death, my mother was very sad, even though she acted very strong in front of us, and she often told me that Grandpa had a kind of cohesiveness.
Grandpa was like the soul of our family, and since he was gone, our family has lost the feeling of home.
Therefore, I wanted to use this opportunity to make an animation about my grandfather, to find my family's and my own memories of him in the film, and to use our memories to bring him back to our family. I remembered that in the first class of 2D animation, the professor said, "To "Animate" is literally 'to give live to'". I wanted to bring Grandpa back to our home through our memories of him, and to tell my mom that as long as we remember Grandpa, he will always be in our hearts and in our family.

Synopsis, Cause & Effect/Chain Effects
Synopsis
Story:
This is a story of a search for memories. The story begins at the columbarium, where 13 members of the family pay their respects at Grandpa's columbarium niche.
The protagonist asks the family what kind of person Grandpa was, Through his family's memories and their perspectives, the protagonist once again understands the person of his grandfather. At the same time, their memories also make the protagonist remember his experience with his grandfather.
His memories not only take him back to his happy experiences with Grandpa, but also to the time when Grandpa was sick. In the hospital, Grandpa faces the pain of his illness. Until one night, in the hospital bed, the protagonist is standing next to his grandfather bed. In the moment of his grandfather's death, his grandfather's spirit comes to a dark space where there is nothing. Just as Grandpa felt the loneliness, a phone rang from somewhere. He was curious and went over to answer it. On the other side of the phone were the experiences and memories of his family and him. And these memories became the power to lead him home, leading him through the place where the family had lived and back home - G17.
After Grandpa returns home, he embraces each of his family members, bringing his love back home again, and to the hearts of each of them. The story returns to the place where the protagonist pays his respects to his grandfather, and this time he no longer holds a doubtful look but closes his eyes and feels his grandfather's love for them.
